In archelogy class.
Trying to decipher Azteca hieroglyphics. I guarantee you, its more fun than you presumably are thinking. I had only gone as far as decoding the date when it occurred.
A feeling overwhelms me and a warm sensation started to be felt. My period had started, I was not prepared and I had to lift right after class with the throwers.
Yet another pair of underwear ruined.
I had learned early to prep my track bag for the worst-case scenario.
My emergency bag case included:
-Pain pills
-Tampons/ pads
-Extra underwear
Overall, my long-term exposure to lifting heavy caused my periods to become more irregular, sometimes missing entirely (also on birth control) and ranging levels of pains from cramps.
I know many girls on my team wore thongs or no underwear at all to avoid panty lines (even on their period).
I, on the other hand, indulged in all full-coverage underwear. Maybe not cute for the viewer but, way more comfortable for the wearer.
The experience I have when lifting on my period is of both subconsciousness and minimized pain. Nothing glamorous or shameful.
My focus on lifting distracts me from the pain within.
My focus on lifting distracts me from the pain within.
There are even studies that show that lifting can reduce the duration of the period.
All information comes from the Mayo Clinic, I am not a Doctor.
What will happen to my period after I stop lifting?
If you decrease the intensity of her workouts, perhaps gains a bit of weight if you are extremely lean you can reverse the effect.
Could I be causing damage to my body?
If your body goes a long period without estrogen, bone damage may occur and may not be reversible.
How does birth control play a role?
Talk to your doctor to determine the right progesterone and estrogen level that is right for you.
