Fitness is something that I truly didn’t know that I cared about until after I graduated from college. I knew I was strong which, made me a good thrower on the track and field team put being a thrower did not make me the athlete I am today or back then.

Sometimes when I’m all alone stuck in my solitude to reflect upon the decision I made, self-doubt tends to creep into my mind. Trying to place a hold on me, like being stuck in the sunken place in Get Out.

Lifting elevated me from that dark place, gave me the confidence to push forward because lifting is not a physical thing it’s a mental thing. Some people may play games to train their brain, but I lift free weights it allows me to place myself in a position of fight or flight. If there’s no one there to save you, how hard are you willing to fight to save yourself to ensure that you don’t get hurt.

How hard are you willing to push yourself to not only be mentally tough but, physically tough.

How hard are you willing to push yourself to not only be mentally tough but, physically tough.

I realize that these words I’m expressing with you I not the cookie cutter version of the happy smiling fitness instructor that you may see on TV, for example, carrot top. However, I feel compelled to extend the Olive Branch to anyone who has been perceived in a negative light about how they view themselves.

Being told by guys they would never date anyone stronger than then, that you’re too masculine and my favorite you’re too aggressive. The cultivation of these things that I expressed to you is why I decided to create fit lifting baddies.

It is not just a phrase with three separate meanings, it’s a movement to empower women to re-instill confidence that being strong does not equate to being masculine, unwanted or undesired.

I have struggled with these things and I know the power that it holds if you decide to believe that these things are true. Let me tell you that if no one else looks you in your eye and told you there is beauty in your strength and that they are not afraid to walk alongside you, let me be the first one to say I will.

Let me be the one to say that if you do not believe you can be strong that you can, let me be the one to tell you that I can’t does not belong in your vocabulary and let me be the one to tell you that this journey is worth it. Because on the other side you can look at the distance you have come, the achievements you’ve made and be proud.

Let me finish by saying, you are not alone on this journey, you are not doing this for anyone but yourself and no amount of surgery can’t give you the feeling. Not only knowing that you are physically tough but mentally tough too. I hope that my blogs inspire you with its realness and encourage you to come back to read more.
